The 1598 English edition of Linschoten's Itinerario contains an additional plate of St. Helena not found in the editions published in Amsterdam. This plate is the small map titled Sancta Helena (size 124 by 77 mm; reproduced above) which is set in a page of text. This plate first appeared in the 1598 edition of Langenes' Caert-Thresoor but a new engraving was made for the English edition of the Itinerario. The engraver is not named on the plate, but the style (particularly of the lettering) is suggestive of Rogers, who engraved the Ascension plate in the English edition of the Itinerario, rather than Elstrake, who engraved the other two St. Helena plates. The two inset profiles of the island in the upper left and upper right corners of the plate have text in English (The West Syde and The North Syde, respectively).
